How you can help:

Our intent is to continue providing bags of food to those students in need.  As you all are well aware, COVID-19 has made a tremendous impact on our nation and world. It has hit us extremely hard right here in the Carolinas. With school closings and workers being laid off, the need for food has tripled if not quadrupled in the past two weeks. Food for Families is dedicated to meet the needs of children and families right here in Union and Anson Counties, NOW and in the coming weeks. That need became clearly evident and critical as school leaders started requesting additional bags of food to help meet the need.  In fact, we have already packed over 1,800 bags this week.

We hear a lot about organizations and the school systems offering free lunches to children and that is fantastic and much needed, BUT we are providing more than one meal. Our bags of food are loaded with nutritious food staples to sustain a family for the weekend (and now during the week). In the next couple of weeks, we will distribute thousands of bags of food and this is putting a major strain on our resources
